Terms of Service

By creating a Maamul account, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are creating an account on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.

Maamul provides a cloud-based business management platform including point-of-sale, inventory management, M-Pesa integration, payroll processing, electronic tax invoicing, and related tools.

We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove features. We will give reasonable notice for material changes that affect your operations.

You are responsible for:

— Keeping your login credentials secure — All activity that occurs under your account — Ensuring your staff use the system appropriately — Providing accurate business information including tax registration details

You must not share your account with businesses other than the one registered. You must not use Maamul for illegal purposes.

You own your business data. Maamul processes it only as directed by you and as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter, including product prices, customer records, and payroll information. Maamul is not liable for errors caused by inaccurate data entry.

On account termination, you may export your data for 90 days. After that, data is deleted per our retention policy.

Maamul facilitates M-Pesa collection through Safaricom's Daraja API. By using this feature, you agree to Safaricom's terms of service for business M-Pesa.

Maamul is not a payment processor. We pass payment instructions between your business and M-Pesa. Disputes about specific payments are between you and your customers; disputes about the M-Pesa service itself are between you and Safaricom.

Maamul's tax invoicing and payroll features automate calculations based on data you provide. You remain responsible for the accuracy of all tax filings and payroll submissions.

We calculate PAYE, NSSF, and NHIF based on the salary and allowance data you enter. It is your responsibility to verify these calculations comply with current KRA, NSSF, and NHIF requirements.

Maamul is not a tax advisor or accountant. We recommend you work with a qualified accountant for complex tax matters.

Subscriptions are billed monthly or quarterly in advance in Kenya Shillings. All prices are exclusive of VAT where applicable.

If payment fails, we will attempt to collect for 7 days before suspending access. Suspended accounts retain data for 30 days after suspension.

You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods.

We target 99.5% monthly uptime for core features. Planned maintenance is announced at least 24 hours in advance.

For uptime issues, our liability is limited to a credit on your next invoice proportional to the downtime experienced. We are not liable for indirect losses caused by downtime.

Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the subscription fees you paid in the 3 months prior to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses including lost revenue, lost customers, or business interruption.

We may update these terms. For material changes, we will notify you by email 30 days in advance. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance.
